Heldam

Heldam is five years old and raced just yesterday, so this is very much a horse at the beginning of its story. The recent form figures — a sixth and a pulled-up run — do not flatter, but Mullins himself has spoken warmly about what he saw when the horse first appeared, describing how well it travelled through its point-to-point under Jamie Scallan and calling it a nice type with the potential to be a smart sort. That kind of quiet confidence from a trainer who has seen everything is worth noting, even if the racecourse results have not caught up yet.

Two races is genuinely not enough to judge any horse fairly, and with Mullins in charge, there is every reason to keep Heldam on your radar as the season develops.
