Dry ground also brings out the best in this horse — it has won two of three races on fast, firm going, a win rate of two in three that stands out sharply against its overall record. On softer or wetter ground, Hastily is a different prospect entirely. The horse also performs at its best over middle distances between seven furlongs and a mile, where it has won two of twelve races. At longer trips, the form drops away noticeably.

What makes Hastily interesting is not recent success — it hasn't won in its last six races, with finishes ranging from ninth to sixteenth, suggesting a form dip. Its last victory came at Cork a full year ago, on 25 July 2025. Jack Cleary has ridden the horse frequently but hasn't found the winning formula together, managing just one win from fifteen races. Trainer Tom McGuinness runs a small operation, and Hastily remains a modest earner in the yard's portfolio. Yet the Cork form, the preference for dry ground, and a seven-year-old that clearly still has something left to offer mean that when conditions favour this horse and it heads back to a track it likes, there are reasons to pay attention.
