Harbour Highway

The first chapter was a bright one. When he won at Navan in March 2024, trainer Emmet Mullins made no secret of his excitement, talking openly about the possibility of a Punchestown festival entry — including the Champion Bumper, one of the most prestigious races of the jumps season. The win was emphatic, with Harbour Highway galloping all the way through the line. What followed, however, was the frustrating stretch that has defined much of his career. A poor run in Grade 1 company at Punchestown — the very top level of the sport — and a stop-start sequence of results that left the yard searching for answers.

The breakthrough came again at Leopardstown in March 2026, and Mullins was candid after the race: this had been a frustrating horse since that first win, and it took a switch to faster, drier ground to unlock his best again. That honesty from a trainer is worth paying attention to — it suggests the team have a clearer picture now of what this horse needs to perform. Mullins' yard has been in strong form this season, sending out 31 winners, so Harbour Highway is operating in a well-run and confident stable.

His recent form reads 2–1 in his last three completed races, which means he has been running into the placings and winning with real regularity when he does take to the track. He raced just one day ago, so he is bang in the middle of an active campaign. For a horse who has at times been described as frustrating, that level of consistency over recent outings is a meaningful shift. If the ground stays on his side, he looks like one to watch as this season continues.
