That one win came at Lingfield Park on 31 May 2025, and it stands as the defining moment of her career so far. Everything else has been a supporting act. Her recent run of form — finishing seventh, fourth, third, eighth, ninth, and third across her last six races — tells a story of inconsistency, with a couple of solid placed efforts sandwiched around some disappointing outings. The eighth and ninth-place finishes suggest she has days when things simply do not click.

What is particularly interesting is how she has fared at the higher level. In three races at Class 2 — meaning some of the better races in Britain — she has not managed a win. That is not a disgrace for a two-year-old still developing, but it does suggest her comfort zone is a step below that company, at least for now.

She is trained by David Evans, based in Pandy in Monmouthshire, and the yard has been in fine form this season with 37 winners already sent out. Evans is a trainer who knows how to place horses shrewdly, so after an 88-day break — a short freshening-up rather than anything worrying — it will be worth seeing where he pitches her next. If he finds the right race at the right level, Guernsey Lady has shown she can hit the board. Whether she can add a second win to her record is the question her next few races should start to answer.
