Grange Walk

His last victory came at Limerick on 10 April 2025, now 16 months in the past. Since then, he has run six more times without winning: a sixth-place finish, a third, a fourth, a fifth, and an eleventh, with one unplaced run mixed in. This is the pattern of a horse gradually winding down, still capable of showing up and finishing in the frame on a good day, but no longer finding the winner's enclosure. Still, he was out racing just a day ago, so the yard clearly believe there is still a race in him somewhere.

John Patrick Ryan's yard at Templemore has been productive this season with 21 winners, so Grange Walk is in an active stable. Most often he has been partnered by Daniel King, though that pairing has produced only 1 win from 12 rides together — a shade over 8 percent. Grange Walk's three career wins came at Leopardstown on his day out just after Christmas in 2021, and then at Limerick, with one other victory in between. At 11 years old and with such slim winning margins in his record, he is plainly a horse who has to be caught on an off-day by horses worse than himself. For now, he remains a regular racer, which perhaps tells you all you need to know about his value to the yard: not a star, but a familiar and reliable presence in the ring.
