Grand Havana

Grand Havana made its racecourse debut just over a day ago and finished fifth. At two years old, the horse is at the very beginning of what could be a long career, and a single run tells you almost nothing — plenty of future winners stumble on their first outing. Alan King's Wroughton yard has sent out 57 winners already this season, so the horse is in experienced hands. Time will tell whether this first race was a learning experience or the start of something better.
