When the ground is right and the distance is right, he is a different proposition. The recent form — three eighth-place finishes after a run of three consecutive seconds — will raise eyebrows. He has not won in his last six races, and his last victory was nine months ago. But he raced just yesterday and remains very much in action, so the team clearly has not given up on finding the right opportunity. The obvious move is a return to Great Yarmouth on a dry day, over a mile or just under. If those boxes get ticked, Gorgeous Mr George has proven more than once that he knows exactly what to do.
