What gives reason for patience is who is doing the training. Miss Natalia Lupini, based at Banbridge in Co Down, has sent out 15 winners already this season — a yard clearly punching at a decent level and with no shortage of know-how. When a trainer is firing in winners at that rate, you tend to trust that a horse still finding its feet will be given the right opportunities to come good. Goomah raced just yesterday, so clearly the team believes there is more to come and is keeping the horse busy.

At this stage there is simply not enough on the record to draw firm conclusions — but a horse trained by someone this active, still racing regularly at three, is one worth keeping an eye on as the season develops.
