It last won on 8 November 2025, a Class 2 race at Doncaster, and has not tasted victory since. Ten months without a win is a long drought for any horse, and it hints at why Golden Mind remains at Class 2 level rather than pushing into the elite races.
What is worth noting is the run before the drought: a win at Newcastle on an artificial surface in August, followed by another at Kempton in February. Golden Mind has won twice on artificial ground, and once on turf, suggesting it can handle different surfaces. Jockey Oisin Orr has ridden it ten times, winning once—not a sparkling record, but horses and riders can simply be incompatible. The first career win came at Leicester on 30 May 2023, now more than two years ago. This is a horse that has proven it can win at a respectable level, and there is enough here to suggest another victory is not impossible. But it will need to rediscover the form that made it dangerous at sprint distances.
