Since then, she has run six times without winning, and her recent form reads 2nd, 7th, 9th, 5th, 7th in her last five completed starts. The second place is encouraging; the 9th less so. She's a horse who can produce on her day but hasn't strung anything together.

Jockey Kieran O'Neill has been the regular partner, riding her in 12 of her 21 races and winning once together — that's about 1 in every 12 rides, or 8%. That's a modest return, though it broadly reflects the horse's overall record rather than suggesting any particular mismatch. Trainer Julia and Shelley Birkett, based at Newmarket, have sent out 15 winners this season, so there's form in the yard — Gemini Star just hasn't added to it yet.

She competes most often at Class 5, which is the entry-level tier of British racing, and has won 1 of her 10 races at that level — 10%, or roughly 1 in 10. For a six-year-old at this point in her career, that tells you she's operating where the yard believes she's competitive, but hasn't been able to stamp her authority on that grade. She raced just yesterday, so she is very much in active training and clearly still being targeted at opportunities. Whether another day like Thirsk in April 2023 is coming is the question her record makes genuinely hard to answer.
