That long-awaited first win came at Killarney on 5th October 2025, and the recent form tells an interesting story. Reading the last six runs from most recent back — a pull-up, third, first, second, seventh, third — you can see a horse that had been running consistently well before that win, following up a second with the victory itself, and placing again before that. The pull-up in the most recent run is the one note of concern in an otherwise solid sequence, and with Galileo Springs having raced just a day ago, the yard will be keeping a close eye on how the horse comes out of that.

Martin Brassil trains out of Dunmurray in Co Kildare, and his yard has been in good form this season with 13 winners sent out. That kind of active, winning operation matters — horses in yards firing on all cylinders tend to be well-prepared and purposefully placed. Brassil is not a trainer who runs horses for the sake of it, so when Galileo Springs lines up, there's usually a plan behind it.

The first win arriving at Killarney, a track with a famously sharp, undulating layout, is worth noting. Some horses simply take to certain venues, and if Galileo Springs proves to have an affinity for Killarney, that's a useful weapon for the team to return to. At 6 years old, the horse is in the prime of its career — old enough to know the job, young enough to keep improving. With seven places already banked and a first win now on the board, the question is whether that October breakthrough was the start of something or a peak moment. The form either side of it suggests there's more to come.
