The career started at Hereford in February 2025, and Forthfactor has barely looked back since. The most recent performance came just yesterday, a win at Aintree — one of British racing's most famous venues — which makes it three wins from the last four outings. That run of form, 1-5-1-1 reading from most recent backwards, tells a story of a horse at the very top of its confidence. The only blip was a fifth-place finish sandwiched between victories, which barely dents the overall picture.

Behind all of this is Dan Skelton, one of the most formidable trainers in the country right now. Based in Alcester in Warwickshire, his yard has sent out 194 winners this season alone — an extraordinary output that marks Skelton out as one of the sharpest operators in the sport. When a trainer is firing in winners at that rate, horses in his care tend to be placed in races they can win, brought along at the right pace, and pointed at the right moments. Forthfactor looks every bit the beneficiary of that expertise.

Skelton has spoken warmly about the horse, noting how impressed he was when Forthfactor quickened away from the turn in an earlier race — that kind of sudden acceleration is exactly what good horses do when the pressure is on. He also had Ascot in mind for the horse over Christmas, targeting a Listed race there, which sits just below the very highest level in British racing. That tells you something important: this is not a horse being quietly campaigned in low-key company. The team have had big ambitions from early on, and so far Forthfactor has done nothing to discourage them.

Four races is a small sample, but the quality of the wins, the calibre of trainer involved, and the sheer consistency of recent form all suggest a horse with a genuinely exciting future ahead of it.
