Both wins have come at Kempton Park, first on 13 October 2025 and then again on 5 November, suggesting the track suits this horse particularly well. Kempton's all-weather circuit is a tight, turning track that rewards horses who switch off and travel smoothly through a race — clearly something Fort Rock does naturally. When a horse wins twice at the same venue in quick succession, that's not luck. That's a horse that knows its job.
Fort Rock is trained by Charlie Appleby at Newmarket, one of the most successful operations in British racing. With 121 winners already on the board this season alone, Appleby's yard is not in the business of running horses for the experience — they run to win, and Fort Rock fits neatly into that pattern. Having a horse like this in that environment suggests the team believe there is plenty more to come.
Raced just yesterday and with a record of three runs, three finishes in the top three, Fort Rock hasn't yet put a foot wrong in its career. The next question is whether it can take that form beyond Kempton and compete at a higher level. For now though, this is a young horse that wins more often than not, trained by one of the best in the business, and still very much on the way up.
