That is not a horse who wins easily, but it is a horse who keeps showing up and occasionally delivers something memorable. Both of those wins have come at the top level of the sport — Class 1 or 2 races — which tells you something important: this is not a horse padding his record against weaker company. When he has won, he has had to beat good horses to do it. His first win came at Kempton Park on 27 December 2021, and the Fairyhouse success in April 2026 shows the ability has not deserted him even as he enters his veteran years.

His recent run of form — finishing 11th, then 1st, then 4th, 6th, 2nd, and 11th reading further back — paints a picture of a horse who blows hot and cold. The wins and placed efforts are sandwiched between some runs where he has barely featured. That is the reality of a horse at this stage of his career: when everything clicks, he can still trouble a Class 2 field; when it does not, he can go missing entirely.

Interestingly, his most regular jockey, Jack Tudor, has yet to get a win out of him across their five rides together. It was presumably someone else in the saddle for that Fairyhouse success. Jack Tudor is a talented rider, so the 0 from 5 record together is more a quirk of timing and circumstance than any reflection on either of them. Trainer John Paul Berry, based in Tomhaggard, County Wexford, has had one winner on the board this season — and Five Star Getaway provided it. For a small yard sending a veteran horse to win at that level, that result would have meant a great deal.

Having raced just one day ago, he is clearly still being kept busy. At 12, every win feels like a bonus. This horse is still collecting them.
