Fine Fellow

The recent run of form tells an interesting story: a fifth, a pulled-up or void run in the middle, then an eighth, and most recently that third place. That uptick at the end is worth noting — finishing third in its latest outing, just one day ago, suggests Fine Fellow may be building toward something rather than going in the other direction.

Trainer Alastair Ralph operates out of Bridgnorth in Shropshire, and the yard is having a productive season with 25 winners already on the board. That kind of output from a smaller, regional operation is no small achievement — it means Ralph and his team know how to place a horse in a race it can win. The fact that Fine Fellow hasn't found one yet is more a matter of timing than talent; a yard firing at that rate will be looking for the right opportunity, and when it comes, this horse should be primed to take it.
