Fighter's Spirit

Bin Suroor's yard has been in fine form this season with 15 winners already on the board, and Fighter's Spirit looks like one of the more exciting names coming through. A trainer of that calibre, operating out of Newmarket — long considered the home of British flat racing — doesn't tend to run horses without a plan, and sending this one out twice in under three weeks suggests there's genuine belief in what they have on their hands.

Two from two sounds simple, but it's rarer than it looks. Plenty of horses win on debut and then find life harder when the races get more competitive. Fighter's Spirit has so far answered every question asked of it. The story is still being written, but the opening chapters are very promising indeed.
