Those two wins tell an interesting story on their own. The first came at Killarney in August 2025, which for an eight-year-old represented a long time coming. The second arrived just over a month later at Listowel in late September — back-to-back wins for a horse who had spent most of his career placing without converting. Winning 2 of his last 6 races is a sharp upturn for a horse whose overall record reads 2 from 23.
The curious wrinkle is the partnership with jockey G B Noonan. They've teamed up nine times without a win between them — yet Fast Felix has clearly won races, just not with Noonan aboard. That's not necessarily a criticism of either party; sometimes a horse simply clicks better with a different rider, and the recent wins may well reflect exactly that kind of change working in the horse's favour.
Trainer Eoin Christopher McCarthy, based in Athea, County Limerick, has had a productive season with 15 winners sent out from his yard, so Fast Felix's recent purple patch fits into a wider picture of a stable in decent form. McCarthy has clearly found something with this horse in the second half of 2025 that wasn't there before. Fast Felix raced just one day ago, so he's clearly being kept busy — and given how he's been running lately, that makes plenty of sense.
