The last of those wins came at Bath in June 2025, so it has been six races without a victory since, but the recent form figures — a third place among them — suggest it remains competitive rather than fading.

Where Fact Or Fable really comes alive is on dry ground. On fast, dry tracks it wins roughly 1 in every 3 races (5 wins from 17), and when conditions are at their very driest that rises to 2 from 5, or 40%. That is a remarkable conversion rate and a genuinely useful piece of information — this is a horse that transforms when the sun has been out.

Liam Keniry rides it most often, with 3 wins from 21 races together — about 1 in every 7 — and the yard at Upper Lambourn has been in good form this season, sending out 17 winners. Moore describes Fact Or Fable and its half-brother Uther Pendragon as two of the yard's great characters, a pair of old campaigners who between them have earned close to £200,000 in prize-money and kept every rider on their toes. They are owned by Wendy and Stuart Jarrett, who Moore says get enormous fun from the game — and that feels like the right note on which to understand this horse. Fact Or Fable is not a headline act. It is something better: a reliable, occasionally surprising, genuinely loved participant in the sport, still turning up and still capable of catching everyone off guard.
