What works in her favour is the team around her. Trainer Nigel Tinkler, based at Langton in North Yorkshire, has sent out 37 winners already this season — that is a yard in form, and a trainer who clearly knows how to get horses racing well. Tinkler has a reputation for patience, and three races into a young horse's career is genuinely not very many. Three-year-olds are still learning the job, and finishing sixth is not the same as finishing last — she is racing competitively, just not threatening at the finish yet.
She raced just one day ago, so she is very much in active training and the team are clearly keeping her busy. Whether a change of conditions, a different track, or simply more experience brings improvement remains to be seen — but with a busy, winning yard behind her, Eva The Deeva is at least in good hands while she finds her feet.
