The career arc so far tells a tidy story. A first win came at Great Yarmouth on the 30th of April, then a fourth-place finish suggested things might level off — but Euston Hall responded with a runner-up spot before winning again at Newbury just this week on the 16th of May. That bounce-back sequence, going 4th, 2nd, 1st in three consecutive runs, is the kind of upward curve that gets people paying attention. Newbury is one of the more respected tracks in Britain, a proper test of a horse's quality, which makes that recent victory all the more meaningful.
Behind the horse is trainer Ed Walker, based at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, one of the most famous training villages in the country. Walker's yard has sent out 80 winners already this season — that is not a small operation quietly ticking along, that is a stable firing on all cylinders. Having a horse like Euston Hall coming through the ranks at this moment, with form pointing upwards, is exactly the kind of situation a trainer wants.
With only four races on the clock and a run as recently as yesterday, Euston Hall is very much a horse in the making. The question now is where the ceiling is — and on this evidence, it has not been found yet.
