Epic Arch is a two-year-old still finding its feet on the track. It made its debut just a day ago and finished sixth, which is a straightforward, unremarkable start for a horse at this age.
Andrew Slattery's yard at Thurles has been firing on all cylinders this season with 62 winners already, so the infrastructure and know-how are clearly there to develop young horses properly. Whether Epic Arch will improve enough to justify another run remains to be seen — plenty of horses make their debut and never race again, while others come back sharper next time. Right now, there is simply nothing to go on beyond that single outing.
