The Sandown win remains her sole victory, which means she has won just 1 in every 8 races across her career. That is not a number that jumps off the page. But at the level where she mostly competes — Class 4, which is mid-tier racing — she has won 1 from 4, a much more encouraging 1 in 4. Her recent form reads 9-3-6-4-3-6, which is patchy, but she placed third on her debut for the Tutty yard at Thirsk on her most recent outing, which is exactly what the team were hoping to see from her. A debut third for a new yard is often more meaningful than it looks — it means the horse has settled in, is working well at home, and is ready to be campaigned properly.

Tutty has been refreshingly open about where this horse is headed. The plan is to follow a similar path to stablemate Call Margot — first a target at York, then the three-year-old Dash at Epsom if things go well. Epsom's sprint finish is one of the most unusual tracks in Britain, a steeply downhill run that suits fast, nimble horses who can handle an irregular surface. Crucially, Tutty says Entailed is straightforward to ride — you can put her wherever you want in a race, which gives a jockey options that not every sprinter provides. She was bought out of Andrew Balding's yard with Epsom specifically in mind, and Tutty says the Thirsk run confirmed what they already believed about her.

Tutty's yard has sent out 20 winners already this season, so this is a team operating with momentum behind them. Entailed raced just yesterday and is very much in active training. She may not have a long win list, but she has a trainer with a clear vision for her and a high-profile target on the horizon.
