Trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien at Ballyroe in County Tipperary, Eniac is in capable hands. O'Brien's yard has sent out 30 winners already this season, which tells you this is a stable that knows how to get horses ready to perform. Having a horse that hasn't won yet sitting in a yard of that quality usually means one of two things — either the horse is being given time to develop, or the yard are waiting for the right opportunity. Either way, it's a patient approach from a team that can clearly afford to play the long game.

With a race just yesterday, Eniac is bang in form and clearly being kept busy. The recent sequence of 4-5-3-9 shows a horse that ran poorly once, bounced back to place, then found improvement again. Whether that upward curve continues into a first win is the question — but at three years old, with a full career ahead, the clock is far from ticking.
