He has won 4 of his 11 races on that type of surface — that is better than 1 in 3, compared to just 2 wins from his remaining 35 races on drier ground. His trainer John Quinn, who operates alongside his son Sean from their yard in Norton, North Yorkshire, has been candid about this. Quinn has described him as "a good handicapper when the ground gets soft" and believes the horse is no worse than he has ever been — just that his consistency without winning kept his official rating artificially high for a long stretch, making life harder than it needed to be.

That consistency has occasionally felt like a curse. One owner noted that he "bumped into one" at Newcastle — finishing second to a horse that was simply better on the day — and called him "so consistent" in a tone that blended admiration with mild exasperation. Jockey Jason Hart knows the horse well, having ridden him in 26 of his races and won 4 of them together, a win rate of about 1 in every 6 rides, which is meaningfully above the horse's overall average.

The highlight of his career came at York in October 2024, when he won a Class 2 race — one of the better prizes in British racing. The team had been pointing him at the prestigious Lincoln earlier that year, only for a hock injury to derail those plans. His last win came at Musselburgh in October 2025, eight months ago now, and his recent form — finishing 11th, 4th, 16th, 5th, 9th, and 2nd — is mixed. But with 44 winners already sent out by the Quinn yard this season and this horse still active just one day ago, there is clearly life in him yet.
