Three of its four career wins have come in Class 6 races, winning 3 from 37 at that level, which is about 1 in every 12 attempts. That is a modest record, but it also means Embarked knows exactly where it belongs and has found a way to win there. The most recent victory came at Doncaster on 19 July 2025, roughly nine months ago — though it is worth noting that Embarked raced just yesterday, so the team are clearly keeping it busy and believing there is another win in the horse somewhere.

The partnership with jockey Joey Haynes is one of the more puzzling features of this profile. In 12 races together, they have not managed a single win — 0 from 12 is a difficult run by any measure, and yet the combination keeps being tried. Recent form has been tough reading too: the last six runs show finishes of 9th, 7th, 8th, 8th, and 3rd, with one run missing from the record. A third place in there is a crumb of encouragement, suggesting the horse can get competitive, but it has not translated into a winner.

Trainer Scott Dixon operates out of Rolleston in Nottinghamshire and has sent out 35 winners this season — a yard in decent form, which means Embarked's results are not down to a struggling operation. Dixon clearly knows how to place horses to win, and that Embarked keeps getting entries suggests there is still faith in what the horse can do on the right day. At 8 years old and with 71 races banked, it will not be running forever. But it ran yesterday, it won nine months ago, and somewhere in that record is a horse that has found the winner's enclosure before and might just find it again.
