The most recent win came at Windsor on 19 May 2025, around twelve months ago now, and Educator has not won in the six races since. That run of form — 2-3-8-3-7-11 reading from oldest to most recent — shows a horse that has drifted backwards a little, finishing second and third in two of those outings before fading more recently. It is still racing, having run just yesterday, which says something about its soundness if nothing else.

Ground matters here. On fast, dry ground, Educator wins 2 from 8 races — 25%, which is a genuinely strong number and more than double its overall rate. That tells you this is a horse that moves through quicker ground with real purpose, where on softer or muddier surfaces that sharpness is lost. Similarly, the horse performs best when the race is run over a mile and one to a mile and two furlongs — 1 win from 3 races at those trips, a 33% rate that stands out sharply against everything else on its record.

Tom Marquand, one of Britain's better jockeys, has partnered Educator seven times and won once — roughly 1 in 7 — which is modest, though the pair clearly know each other well enough to keep the partnership going. The operation behind the horse is Henrietta C Knight's yard at West Lockinge in Oxfordshire, a team that has sent out 15 winners already this season and clearly knows how to place a horse.

Most of Educator's races have come at Class 4 level — the middle tier of everyday racing — where it has won 3 of 17, a rate of roughly 1 in 6. That is a solid enough record at that grade. The portrait that emerges is of a reliable, honest competitor who finds its best form on dry ground, at a specific trip, and who — when conditions line up — still has a win in it.
