Dynamic Force

The pattern of his career points to a horse that performs best when conditions suit. On normal ground—neither waterlogged nor baked hard—Dynamic Force has won three times from 19 races, a rate of roughly one win in every six attempts that stands well above his overall average. He also shows a preference for races over 1m1f to 1m2f, having won once from just four attempts at that trip, a quarter of the time. When he gets into Class 4 company—the lower tier of competitive racing—he has won once from six races. These are small samples, but they hint at a horse that needs the pieces to align: the right distance, the right ground, the right level of opposition.

Trainer T G McCourt's yard at Stamullen, Co Meath, has been productive this season with 13 winners sent out, though Dynamic Force has not yet added to that tally under the trainer's care—at least not recently enough to move the needle. More puzzling is the partnership with jockey James Ryan, who has ridden Dynamic Force 11 times without a win, suggesting either that the horse and rider have not clicked, or that they have been handed difficult tasks together. With another race coming up after his outing yesterday, Dynamic Force remains an active competitor, a horse still hunting for the next opportunity when circumstances break in his favour.
