Dynamic Force

The recent form makes for sobering reading. In the last six races, the best finish has been fourth, with results of fourth, sixth, seventh, tenth and twelfth following that. This is a horse that raced just yesterday and is clearly being kept busy, but right now it is drifting towards the back of fields rather than threatening the front of them.

Dynamic Force does have conditions it genuinely prefers. On normal ground — not wet or muddy, not baked and fast, just a standard racing surface — it has won 2 of its 12 races, which is a win rate of 17%, or roughly 1 in 6. That is meaningfully better than its overall record and tells you the ground matters. It also shows its best form over middle distances, between a mile and a furlong and a mile and two furlongs, where it has won 1 from 4 — 25%, or 1 in every 4 races. At that trip, on a normal surface, Dynamic Force is a different proposition.

The horse is trained by T G McCourt, whose yard in Stamullen, Co Meath has sent out 14 winners this season, so the operation is in decent form even if this particular horse is not. Regular jockey James Ryan has ridden Dynamic Force 10 times without getting to the winner's circle together. That is a partnership that has been given every chance to click.

At seven years old and with its last win receding further into the past, Dynamic Force needs things to fall right — the right trip, the right ground, perhaps a softer race. The ingredients are there. They just have not combined recently.
