Duty's Call

The horse is trained by George Scott at Newmarket, a yard that has already sent out 52 winners this season and clearly knows how to prepare young runners for success. Scott will be looking to give Duty's Call the time it needs to develop. Two races is barely a start in a young horse's career—plenty of decent runners take a few outings to work out what they're doing and where they belong. The step back from second to eighth suggests there may have been something not quite right last time out, perhaps ground conditions or the way the race panned out, rather than a sign the horse is going backwards. With a yard in form behind it and only two starts under its belt, Duty's Call has time to prove whether it can turn that early promise into wins.
