Compare that to his overall record of 3 wins from 16 races across his career, and it becomes obvious that this horse doesn't just prefer soft ground, he requires it. His two most recent wins — at Windsor and then Newbury in September 2024 — both came on wet ground, and that Newbury success now stands almost 20 months in the past.

His recent form reads 5-2-10-13-4-9, which at first glance looks patchy. But strip out the conditions each time he raced and you'd likely find a pattern: the finishes where he was competitive, the ones where he wasn't, almost certainly tracking the state of the turf. The second place in his last six runs hints that the ability is still there — he just can't fully express it on the wrong surface.
