What makes this worth watching, though, is who is doing the training. Tim Easterby's yard at Great Habton in North Yorkshire has sent out 138 winners already this season — a remarkable tally that marks Easterby as one of the most productive trainers currently operating in Britain. When a yard is firing at that volume, horses in the string tend to improve quickly, and a young three-year-old with just two races under its belt is very much a work in progress. Easterby clearly knows how to find the right race for the right horse, and Dreamadera will need exactly that — a spot where the penny can finally drop.
Having raced as recently as yesterday, Dreamadera is bang in the middle of its campaign. There is plenty of time for the profile to change, and with a trainer of Easterby's calibre in charge, it would be premature to write the horse off entirely. For now, though, the results have not arrived — and the task is simply to find a race where they finally do.
