Dorigo

The most recent outing came just yesterday with another second-place finish, which at least shows the horse is still in the mix and competitive at whatever level it's racing. Before that came a seventh, then another second, then a fourth. That kind of form—two seconds bookending a couple of tougher runs—tells you Dorigo is capable of finishing close to the front, but hasn't quite got over the line when it matters.

The horse is trained by K A Ryan at Hambleton in North Yorkshire. The yard is having a solid season with 45 winners already sent out, so there's clearly plenty of experience on hand to get Dorigo sorted. At just two years old, there's genuine time to learn and improve. Many horses at this age are still finding their feet. Whether Dorigo will break through into the winner's column remains to be seen, but the recent string of placed finishes at least suggests the talent is there—it just needs to click.
