What makes the recent form a little harder to read is the contrast it contains. A win and a placed finish sit alongside a sixth and an eighth, which suggests a horse still finding her feet and working out when and where she runs her best race. At seven years old, she is no youngster, so the expectation would be that her best performances are coming from experience rather than raw potential still being unlocked.

She is trained by Ross O'Sullivan out of Kilcullen in County Kildare, and the yard has been in fine form this season — 35 winners is a genuinely productive tally and suggests a team that knows how to get horses ready to perform. Having raced just one day ago, Dora d'Or is clearly being kept busy, and with Down Royal already on her CV as a winning track, it will be interesting to see whether O'Sullivan sends her back there to exploit that familiarity.
