Christopher Kellett trains Disguisedlimit out of Lathom in Lancashire, a yard that has sent out seven winners already this season. Kellett has spoken warmly about the horse, noting it arrived from the Philip Hobbs and Johnston White operation and made what he considered a very promising start over fences recently, staying on strongly at the finish. That kind of late momentum is exactly what you want to see — it suggests the horse is finding its feet rather than running out of ideas. Kellett has also been candid about the challenge of handling him: he can be keen and hard to settle, which means the team has had to ride him with that in mind, biding their time rather than letting him burn himself out.

Almost all of Disguisedlimit's racing has come at Class 4 level — solid, competitive races without being the very top tier — and the record there reads zero wins from nine attempts. That might sound bleak, but paired with eight career placings, it paints a picture of a horse that is regularly there or thereabouts. The most recent form confirms it: a second-place finish features in the last six runs, alongside a couple of thirds. The horse raced just one day ago, so it is very much in active training and on Kellett's radar for another crack soon. The trainer's own words — "he'll take a lot of beating next time" — suggest that confidence in the yard has not dimmed. Whether Disguisedlimit can finally turn a place into a win is the question that has been hanging over its career for 11 races now.
