That Cheltenham win is worth dwelling on. Trainer Willie Mullins described jockey Mark Walsh coming back in and saying her jumping that day was "magical" — particularly over the last ditch, where she pinged it so well that she dragged herself into contention. Walsh admitted he wondered if he'd gone too soon, but Dinoblue had taken the decision out of his hands, and from that point she was foot-perfect all the way to the line. That is the mark of a horse who knows what she's doing.
Walsh and Dinoblue are a well-established partnership, having raced together 21 times and won 11 of them — that's wins in more than half their races together, a number that reflects genuine trust built over years. Mullins, training out of Muine Bheag in Co Carlow, has had a quite extraordinary season — 220 winners sent out — and Dinoblue is one of the stars of that operation. At Naas, she has won three of four races, prompting JP McManus's racing manager Frank Berry to say simply: "She turns up every day and you can set your clock by her." That kind of consistency is rare and worth celebrating.
Mullins has spoken of running her at Navan before targeting the Mares' Chase at Cheltenham as the season's ultimate goal — the same route that brought her that memorable win in 2025. She raced just yesterday and is very much active. For a horse who started it all at Clonmel in January 2022, Dinoblue has travelled a long way — and on current form, she is not done yet.
