That is 1 win from every 3 visits to that track, compared to just 1 from every 13 elsewhere. His first career win came there on 4 November 2023, and there is clearly something about the place that suits him, whether that is the track shape, the surface, or simply familiarity. Course specialists at this level are worth paying attention to when the entries come around.

His most recent win came at York on 25 July 2025, which is now around 10 months ago. Since then, his last six runs read 9-2-5-7-4-13 — the sort of sequence that includes a second-place finish to keep everyone interested, but no winner's enclosure visit. He raced just yesterday, so he is clearly being kept busy by the team at Liam Bailey's yard in Middleham, North Yorkshire. Bailey has sent out 17 winners this season, which shows the operation is in decent form — Dicko The Legend just has not been among them lately.

The other puzzle worth flagging is his record at Class 5 level, which is where he competes most often. In 21 races at that grade, he has not won once. All five of his career wins have come elsewhere, at higher grades or different conditions. That is a strange inversion — usually horses find Class 5 easier, not harder. There is plenty of effort going in from all sides, and the second-place last time out suggests he is not far away — but for now, Dicko The Legend remains a horse whose best form tends to arrive somewhere other than where you might most expect it.
