Both of her wins have come on normal ground, and she has a striking 2 from 4 record over the shorter distances — five furlongs to six and a half — which is 50%, or one in every two races. That is a horse who knows exactly what she is doing when conditions suit. Her first win came at Pontefract in July 2025, followed quickly by a second at Carlisle in August, suggesting she hit a productive patch of form in midsummer. The trouble is that six races have passed since Carlisle without another win, and her recent figures — a second, two thirds, and a couple of disappointing finishes — paint a picture of a horse who is knocking on the door without quite getting through it.
Jockey David Allan has been the constant through her best moments. He has ridden her five times and won twice, which is a win rate of 40% — two in every five rides together. That kind of partnership matters in racing; some horses simply respond to a familiar pair of hands, and Daydreama appears to be one of them. She is trained by Tim Easterby at Great Habton in North Yorkshire, and the scale of that operation gives some context — 126 winners already this season is a formidable output, and horses leaving that yard tend to be well-prepared. Daydreama raced just yesterday, so she is very much in the thick of her season, and if she can find normal ground and a five or six furlong trip, the evidence says another win is not far away.
