Both wins have come at tracks in Yorkshire — first at Ripon in July 2025, then at Thirsk the following month — and that regional pattern is worth noting. Some horses simply take to a particular part of the country, and there may be something about the flatter, less demanding northern tracks that suits this one's style. Trained by James Tate out of Newmarket, Daneh Of Dandy is part of a yard that has been firing on all cylinders this season, sending out 50 winners — so there is clearly no shortage of know-how behind the operation.
Where things get more complicated is at the top level. Daneh Of Dandy has run three times in Class 1 races — the very best Britain has to offer — and has yet to win any of them. That is not a disgrace; plenty of perfectly good horses never win at that level. But the recent form figures tell an interesting story. Reading from most recent backwards: 1, 1, 5, 8, then a gap, then 8 and 9. Those back-to-back wins in the middle of the sequence show real ability, but the horse has since finished eighth and first — yes, a win just yesterday — meaning it is currently in the form of its life coming out of its most recent race. That last result is the one that matters most right now.
At three years old, Daneh Of Dandy is at exactly the age when horses begin to reveal what they truly are. The wins are there, the trainer is among the best in the business, and the momentum appears to be building in the right direction. Whether it can translate that northern form into success at the highest level remains the big question — but for now, this is a horse worth watching closely.
