What we do have is the breeding. The sire, Feel Like Dancing, was a useful performer on the flat whose offspring have shown a tendency to stay well and improve with time — which might at least explain the patient approach to getting Dance Partner to the track. The dam is by Captain Rio, a stallion associated with speed and a sharp, early effectiveness. That combination of a staying sire and a speedy maternal line is an interesting mix, and could produce a horse that bridges the gap between pace and stamina.
Beyond that, there is honestly not much more to say — and that is the point. Dance Partner is a blank page. No wins, no losses, no pattern to read. The debut will tell the yard everything, and it will tell the rest of us whether this long wait was worth it.
