That one victory came at Newcastle back in December 2025, and it stands as the clearest sign yet of what Dalamara is capable of. Newcastle is a sharp, all-weather track that suits horses who race with purpose and don't need a big, wide-open gallop to show their best — and Dalamara clearly took to it. What is slightly unusual is the shape of her form since: her recent runs read 2-4-1-7-7-4 (most recent first), which means she finished second and fourth in her two most recent races after that win, suggesting she is running well right now even without adding to her tally.

She is trained by Ben Haslam at Middleham Moor in North Yorkshire, one of the great centres of British racing. Haslam's yard has been in fine form this season, sending out 35 winners — a number that speaks to a well-organised operation running horses at the right time in the right places. Having an active, in-form yard behind a young horse like Dalamara matters: it means she is likely being placed carefully and given every chance to progress. With six races now under her belt and her trainer clearly in good nick, the next few months will tell us a lot about just how good she might become.
