The gap of three months since that York win is notable — it suggests the horse may have been working through some issues or simply waiting for the right opportunity to run again. That return came just yesterday, and while a ninth-place finish is hardly encouraging, the fourth-place run in the race before shows the horse can still be competitive on its day. At this early stage in a career, consistency matters less than the raw ability to win races, and Cut A Dash has at least proved it can do that. How quickly it learns to do it regularly will determine whether this horse amounts to something or remains a one-time winner.
