Cotai Starlight

The recent form tells a story of a young horse still learning the game. In the last six runs, there have been two seconds, a fourth, a fifth, and a couple of mid-field efforts, most notably an eighth-place finish three races back. That second-place finish most recently suggests the horse is competitive, but the gaps between decent efforts are concerning — Cotai Starlight can't quite maintain momentum. Trainer Katie Scott, who runs her Galashiels yard in the Scottish Borders, has had a solid season with 17 winners, so the infrastructure is there to develop this young runner properly. The fact that Cotai Starlight was active just a day ago shows it is being kept in regular work, which should help sharpen it up. At three years old, there is still time to find another level, but the horse will need to start converting more opportunities into wins if it is to justify the effort.
