It is a modest record, but an honest one. This is a horse who found his level and competed hard within it. His most recent win came at Lingfield Park in February 2025, making it 14 months since he last got his nose in front. The six races since have brought a third place and little else — a 3, two blanks, an 8, and two 4ths — the sort of form that suggests the winning feeling is becoming harder to recapture.

Lingfield Park clearly holds a special place in his story. That is where he won on debut in January 2022, and where he collected his most recent win over three years later. It is rare for a horse to bookend such a long chapter of his career at the same track, and it gives Lingfield an almost sentimental significance in his record.

His most regular partner in the saddle has been William Carson, who has ridden him in 25 of his 41 races — a remarkable degree of continuity. Together they have won twice, a win rate of around 1 in every 12 races. That is not a blazing record, but jockey-horse partnerships built over that many outings suggest a level of trust from the yard that goes beyond pure statistics. When jockey Tony Hamilton rode him to a win at Southwell, he noted that Coolagh Magic "jumped out well" and when asked to quicken, delivered immediately — describing a horse that, on his best days, is sharper and more willing than his record might suggest.
