Cluain Chormaic

The recent form makes for interesting reading. Going back through the last six runs — third, second, third, fifth, seventh, and a blank entry before that — there is a clear pattern of improvement. That early seventh and fifth have given way to a sequence of podium finishes, which in racing terms means the horse is figuring things out. Whether that translates into a first win soon is the big question, but the direction of travel is at least pointing the right way.

Cluain Chormaic is trained by Karen Jewell, who operates out of Borden in Kent. It is a smaller yard, and four winners on the board this season shows the team is capable of getting results. With a horse like this — competitive but not yet over the line — the trainer's job is to find the right race at the right moment, and Jewell's record suggests she knows how to do that. The fact that Cluain Chormaic raced just yesterday and is clearly in an active campaign means a breakthrough could come sooner rather than later.
