That one career victory came at Chepstow in August 2025, and it remains the defining moment of Cloudbuster's profile so far. Chepstow is a track with a famously tricky downhill finish that rewards horses with balance and a cool head — so winning there as a 3-year-old is worth noting. Whether that course suits Cloudbuster in a way others don't will be one of the interesting questions as the season develops.
The recent form reading 9-6-2-1-3-3 tells a story of its own. Reading from right to left — oldest to newest — there's a pair of thirds, then a win, then second, then sixth, then ninth. That's a horse who peaked sharply and has since drifted back through the field. It doesn't mean the ability has gone, but it's honest evidence that Cloudbuster hasn't recaptured that winning form since August. At Class 4 level specifically — the fourth tier of British racing, solid but not elite — Cloudbuster has raced three times and hasn't won once, which hints that even at this level the horse still has something to prove.
Trainer Richard Newland and his co-trainer Jamie Insole, based in Worcestershire, have been in excellent form this season with 49 winners sent out. A yard operating at that kind of volume knows which horses are ready to run and when — so the fact that Cloudbuster raced just yesterday means the team clearly believes there's more to come. Whether the horse can rediscover that Chepstow spark is the question worth watching.
