Circuit Breaker

The real story here is Kempton Park. Circuit Breaker has won twice from just three races at the track, a win rate of roughly two wins in every three runs. That level of dominance at a single venue is unusual and tells you something important: this horse has genuine ability when conditions and opposition align. His most recent victory came there in October 2024, and while that win came in a small field of only four runners, it showed that the horse can still perform at the level that matters. The trainer noted after that run that Circuit Breaker is an out-and-out stayer — the kind of horse built for longer distances and ground with some give in it — and that the victory had him thinking about spring targets like the River Don, a race designed for exactly this type of stayer.

Since that win, though, Circuit Breaker has not managed another success in his last six races. His recent form reads 4-4-6-3-6-6, which shows he is finding places but no longer finding the winner's circle. At Class 4 level — the everyday racing where this horse typically competes — he has won 2 of 9 races, a decent 22 percent win rate. The challenge now is finding the right race, the right ground, and the right setup. Ridden mostly by Cieren Fallon, the pair have not yet clicked on the track, with no wins from five rides together. But Kempton, on its artificial surface with a stayer-friendly setup, has always brought out the best in this horse. That remains the template.
