The most recent race came just a day ago, suggesting the horse is being campaigned regularly in an attempt to find a breakthrough moment. Over its entire career, Cinnabar Moth wins roughly zero races from every twenty attempts—a record that speaks to a horse fighting hard but simply not quite having the ability or luck needed to cross the line first. The single place finish remains the highlight to date, a rare moment when the horse got close enough to collect a bit of prize money. For a horse with no wins after eleven attempts, keeping it in training and continuing to race it suggests Doyle believes there is more to come, or that the horse is useful enough in lower-grade races to justify the effort. Whether Cinnabar Moth will eventually break that duck remains to be seen, but so far it has been a patient campaign with precious little to show for it.
