His first career win came there in October 2023, and he returned to score again in December 2025 — over two years apart, but the same venue doing the same thing for him. Some horses simply love a particular track, the way certain people always order well at one restaurant but fumble the menu everywhere else. Lingfield is clearly that place for Christian David.

His recent form tells an interesting story. Reading the last six races from most recent backwards — 4th, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 1st, 13th — there is a wobble in the middle, but the trend is pointing back upward. Richard Hannon was candid about the Newmarket run, noting the horse was bumped at the start and hampered early, which left him with too much to do. Despite that, Hannon described it as a good run and said the horse is "ready to win now." That is not throwaway trainer-speak — this is a yard that has sent out 118 winners already this season, so they know what a horse in form looks like.

Interestingly, his most regular jockey Joe Leavy has yet to win together across their five rides — but that partnership may not be the key variable here. Jockey Sean Levey, who partnered him for the December Lingfield win, spoke afterwards about the horse's greenness — running around a bit in the straight — but gave him the benefit of the doubt and flagged him as a nice prospect for mile races through the year. With Hannon echoing that outlook on a stable tour just days ago, Christian David looks like a horse to track through the summer, particularly if the yard find their way back to Lingfield.
