Chasing Blues

The recent form tells a story of inconsistency. A third place followed by a second feels promising on paper, but then came a fourth, a missed race, and an eighth. That eighth last time out, just a day ago, suggests Chasing Blues may have had an off day, or the race simply didn't suit. There is no obvious pattern in what works and what doesn't, which is either a puzzle to solve or a sign the horse may be near its ceiling. Working with Henry De Bromhead's yard at Knockeen in Waterford — a powerhouse operation that has already sent out 110 winners this season — there is certainly experience and resources being applied to the problem. Whether Chasing Blues will ever break through remains to be seen, but it is active and still trying.
