There is reason for patience. Haslam's Middleham Moor operation is a producing yard—they have already sent out 35 winners this season, so Charcon is working in an environment built to nurture improvement. At three years old he still has time to develop, and his most recent finishes (a fifth and then another fifth) suggest he may be finding his feet at the right level.
