At distances between 1m1f and 1m2f, this horse has won 1 from 4 — a 25% win rate, meaning it wins roughly one in every four races at its preferred trip. That is a meaningfully better number than its overall record, and it tells you something useful: the team at James Fanshawe's Newmarket yard clearly know where this horse is at its best.

Fanshawe is one of the more respected trainers operating out of Newmarket, and his yard has been in fine form this season with 47 winners already sent out. Jonny Peate has been the regular partner aboard Celestias Comet, riding in six of the eight races together — the pair have combined for that single win, a 17% win rate between them, which is about 1 in every 6 rides. Having a consistent jockey on board matters: it builds familiarity, and the fact that Peate keeps getting the call suggests the yard believe in the combination. With Celestias Comet having raced as recently as yesterday, the horse is clearly fit and active — and based on what we know about where it performs best, another crack at that sweet-spot distance could be worth watching.
